Jim also is a field host for ‘The Best of the West’ TV series on the Pursuit Channel (Long Range Hunting Authority). He was born and raised in Wyoming where he has remained in the outdoors for most all of his life.

For the first time in podcast history, we were able to round up the Elk 101 trio and talk Elk during the Western Hunting Expo in SLC. Corey, Dirk, and Donnie have been hunting partners for many years and share some of their insights and tactics to getting it done in September. In addition, they enjoy jabbing each other a bit and laughing about times had in the elk woods. These guys emulate what a partnership should be in the backcountry and its obvious their passion for chasing bull elk in September.

Bryan Martin is a distinguished all around mountain hunter and guide. He has traveled all over the world guiding and hunting and has a well-deserved reputation for his technical knowledge of gear, tactics, travel logistics, etc. He is also an accomplished hunting editor for Western Hunter magazine and has published many articles and Blogs in regards to long-range backpack hunting and gear breakdowns.

Our guest today is a TV personality and co-host of the Petersen Production Best of the West TV series on the Pursuit Channel. Dan Adler is the owner/outfitter for Diamond Outdoors in Arizona and they kill some monster animals year after year. Dan is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to elk and coues deer hunting and speaks nationally at hunting conventions all over the US. He is a veteran of the USAF where he was a Captain and served for 10 years as an officer.

Broadcasting from the 2017 Sheep Show in Reno, we catch up with Eric Pawlak, TAGS Manager, at Worldwide Trophy Adventures (WTA) based in Sidney, NE. Erik was the founder of Cabelas Tags preceding the WTA purchase in July 2016. He has hunted western big game in many different areas of the Rockies, Midwest and Alaska. During the 2010 season, Eric accomplished his three quarter slam of North American wild sheep and he also holds a Super 10 of North American big game. Eric is an expert in understanding the complex application process that the states have in place to obtain limited-entry big-game tags.
